With its celestial motifs, vibrant colors, echoes of medieval and Tibetan art, and an array of animal and natural symbols, the new Quintessence collection introduces new techniques and revisits the ones that are the foundation of the brand, such as Amazonian marquetry and Rajasthani miniature painting. In this new collection, the designer explores the symbolism of the alchemical processes through contrasting themes such as The Sky x The Earth, The Moon x The Sun and Femininity x Masculinity. Just as the alchemist seeks to distill the essence of nature, Silvia Furmanovich seeks to distill the essence of culture and craft. In alchemy, the Peacock symbolizes spiritual enlightenment, the beauty of transformation, and the multiplicity of possibilities.

Born to a Brazilian goldsmith, Silvia Furmanovich, launched her own brand in 1997; however, within the past few years, Silvia has sparked the jewelry world in awe with her Marquetry collections. After seeking inspiration in Western Brazil, Silvia came across skilled artisans who had mastered the age-old marquetry technique, an intricate process of assembling naturally-colored, hand-cut wood. Together, these artisans and Silvia have salvaged Amazonian wood to paint pictures and patterns, encased by gold and adorned with semi-precious and precious stones. Silvia’s curiosity of travel and cultures has taken us on journeys through Japan, along the Silk road and sojourned through Egypt, and through these ventures have employed unique and traditional craftsman techniques unique to each region into fine jewelry. Silvia’s collection is rich with the vibrancy of the natural world. Each piece is one-of-a-kind and is truly a work of art.
