The Loupe in The Hamptons

SUMMER IN THE HAMPTONS

Summering in the Hamptons is an iconic pastime most New Yorkers do to escape the hot summer months and the hustle and bustle of city life. But as of late iconic brands like Chanel and Marni head out east to host luxurious pop-up shops. The Loupe is among the few boutiques to host a private appointment shopping experience in East Hampton. Nestled in lush, gardened seclusion we set up shop at The Reform Club’s stunning cottage inn. Booking private appointments throughout our stay we also hosted several private events receiving clients new and old as well as a few of our phenomenal designers.

COLLECTIONS

At The Loupe, we offer seventeen one-of-a-kind jewelers with a wide range of inspirations. In the Hamptons, we showcased Caroline Ellen, Eva Fehren, Fernando Jorge, Hoorsenbuhs, Irene Neuwirth, Kai Linz, Nancy Newberg, and Silvia Furmanovich. Each with their own fine jewelry point of view. Caroline Ellen brought warmth with her 20k yellow gold and the latest edition of rich cognac diamonds. Eva Fehren featured a delicate yet dark collection of stackable everyday black, grey, and white diamonds. Fernando Jorge offered a modern aesthetic with a classic feel. Hoorsenbuhs though gender neutral showcased strong chains and links with their signature Tri-Link motif. Irene Neuwirth brought the bright earthiness that makes a bold statement with her Gemmy Gem and Tropical Flower collections. Kai Linz was a one-stop shop for sparkle and contemporary style. Nancy Newberg featured effortless style mixing and matching metals and layering them for maximum impact. And last but certainly not least Silvia Furmanovich and her wearable art that tells a story, a true conversation starter, featuring her Marquetry, Bamboo, and latest Silk Road Collections all with handmade detailing.

LAUNCH WITH CAROLINE ELLEN

Kicking off our event we had the privilege of spending the evening with designer and friend Caroline Ellen. The spark of joy we get in collecting her pieces was matched in her storytelling and thrill to engage with everyone in attendance. With a bar in our private yard and passed hors d’oeuvres our guests made their way outside to enjoy a perfect summer evening. Talking fashion and jewelry amongst new and returning faces our first night set the tone for an eventful jewelry-filled week!

A DAY WITH SILVIA FURMANOVICH

The first Sunday of our pop-up was spent with Brazilian designer Silvia Furmanovich, walking the grounds, through the orchard and rose garden. Silvia talked about the inspiration behind her collections – Silk Road, and Egypt. She explained the process of her newest tapestry pieces where silk is woven into intricate designs on a miniature scale to accommodate earrings; she travels to Uzbekistan which inspired the Silk Road, and where she might travel next to look for inspiration on a new collection. We had the privilege of previewing never before seen one-of-a-kind pieces adding a special pair of embroidered earrings to our collection. We received guests throughout the day, who were thrilled to meet the eponymous designer in person while enjoying rosè and shopping the collection.

AROUND TOWN

East Hampton storefronts feature luxury brands such as Chanel, Prada, and Rolex, as well as local specialty retailers providing a shopping experience for all. Amagansett, while more relaxed, featured contemporary brands such as Jenni Kayne and Ulla Johnson, as well as a wonderful mix of coffee shops, fast casual eats, floral shops, specialty home retailers and a vinyl shop with an expertly curated selection of music from all eras.

We enjoyed nearly daily trips to Amber Waves Market where we indulged in delicious fresh salads and bites prepared daily, fresh fruits, vegetables and of course our daily dose of coffee. The setting is a small, beautiful farm with daily picked produce, picnic tables and quaint playhouses for children to enjoy. A true locals spot. Duryea’s in Montauk provided a delicious seafood experience on the waterfront, so wonderful we dined twice during our stay. Also in Montauk, we enjoyed Brooklyn based; Roberta’s for a team Pizza Party. For Mexican Cuisine, Rita Cantina was a must-have arrival dinner, and La Fondita was the perfect quick spot for late-night bites. Il Buco Al Mar in Amagansett not only served up delicious fare from the Sea but incredible local scene. A dinner at Tuto Il Giorno in Sag Harbor came with a surprise meeting with Queen, Icon, Legend, Donna Karan herself. A restaurant owned and operated by David Meyer, Gianpaolo de Felice and his wife Gabby Karan presenting fine Italian cuisine is a must when visiting The Hamptons. Conveniently located off the serenely decorated dining room is the Urban Zen Boutique featuring designs by Gabby’s mother and Donna Karan. Dee and Laura enjoyed dinner and a little late-night styling session with Donna herself. A surreal and dream-like experience.

Outside of all the incredible dining experiences were fabulous hotels with charming interiors and hospitable staff. Gurney’s Montauk Resort sits right on the water, hosting Dior’s Hamptons Popup and just around the corner a nautical dream, The Surf Lodge. If boating is your passion, EHP Resort & Marina is an iconic hideaway with bespoke accommodations. Topping Rose House, a stunning full-service luxury hotel, shuttled guests to and from our popup. Located on the main street of East Hampton, The Maidstone has been a staple since the 20s and is just a bike ride away.

WEEKEND WITH HOORSENBUHS

Our friends Kether and Gilbert from Hoorsenbuhs moved into the cottage next door for the second weekend of our pop-up, where they had an expanded collection of Hoorsenbuhs beautifully displayed. We had the opportunity to preview some very special ‘Infinite’ pieces which we can’t wait to feature in the boutique. Thursday night, we hosted the Hoorsenbuhs team, friends and new faces with a party at our cottage, featuring catering by Hamptons Aristocrat, stunning white arrangements from Flowers by Beth, along with specialty cocktails and wine. Rounding out the week we spent time in Montauk for dinner with an ocean view. Overall, we had a wonderful time and a successful event – our pop-up was made possible by our extraordinary team, fabulous designers, gracious clients and the serene backdrop of The Hamptons.
