For ten days only, The Loupe welcomes the imaginative world of Italian jewelry designer Francesca Villa for an exclusive pop-up trunk show, October 1–11.
Villa has built a devoted following for jewelry that feels at once precious, playful and deeply personal. Her designs often begin with an unexpected discovery—a vintage cameo, an antique Essex crystal, a nostalgic lenticular image, an old casino chip or another tiny object that captures her imagination. These objets trouvés become the starting point for entirely new stories, transformed with gold, diamonds, colorful gemstones and enamel into remarkable pieces of fine jewelry.
A Collector of Stories
Before establishing her namesake collection in 2007, Villa designed jewelry for some of the world’s most prestigious houses, developing the technical expertise that now underpins her distinctly unconventional point of view.
At the heart of her work is an obsession with memory and narrative. Rather than allowing beautiful objects from the past to remain artifacts, Villa gives them another life. Antique cameos become bold contemporary rings. Vintage lenticulars become diamond-set pendants. Miniature objects and unexpected curiosities are elevated into jewelry that rewards a closer look—and often reveals a secret, a joke or a story known only to its wearer.
The result is fine jewelry that refuses to take itself too seriously.

Behind the whimsy is extraordinary craftsmanship.
Villa works between her studio in Piedmont and her atelier in Valenza, Italy, where master goldsmiths, setters and enamellers bring her technically demanding designs to life. Gemstones, engraving and enamel are considered down to the smallest detail—even the backs of earrings and interiors of rings receive the same attention as what the world sees.
It is this combination of imagination and meticulous execution that makes her work so compelling: jewelry created with the rigor of traditional Italian craftsmanship, but with the curiosity and delight of a lifelong collector.
