Shamballa Jewels was founded by Mads and Mikkel Kornerup, two Danish brothers who wanted to break convention and develop empowering designer jewelry pieces that anyone could feel confident wearing. With showrooms in Copenhagen and New York, these bold designs can also be found at The Loupe in Minneapolis. 

The Jewels

Shamballa’s designers draw their inspiration from a sort of Nordic interpretation of Buddhism. The Star of Shamballa is the emblematic representation of the Dorje: the thunderbolt that accompanies a state of enlightenment. “You can say it is the Buddhist version of Thor’s Hammer from Nordic mythology,” the designers state on their website. 

To look at Shamballa Jewels is to see the amalgamation of far eastern philosophies and a modern Nordic design. But if you believed that the gentle whispers of Buddhism are overpowered by the bold symbolism of Norse mythology, you’d be incorrect. Shamballa Jewels are designed to be worn on any wrist.

The pieces are created from braided cords, beads, and precious metals. The pieces are also customizable, giving the shopper infinite possibilities. Unique and Customizable Bracelets

Shamballa Jewels have developed a relatively simple concept that has allowed its designers to create thousands of bespoke pieces. String options include charcoal grey, peach, olive, blue, dusty brown, and chocolate, and there are dozens of different bead types and lock styles. Bead and lock diameters range from 6mm to 10mm, and the number of beads and locks you can display on your bracelet depends on the size of your bracelet and the diameters of the individual components.
