This past Friday, The Loupe welcomed renowned Dutch jewelry artist Bibi van der Velden for an unforgettable evening celebrating her imaginative, otherworldly designs.
We kicked off the evening with an intimate cocktail reception in The Loupe Lounge, where 30 invited guests had the rare opportunity to explore an expanded trunk show of Bibi’s work—featuring over 80 of her extraordinary pieces. From opal-inlaid scarabs to glittering alligators cast in 18k gold, each jewel told a story steeped in nature, art, and mythology.
Guests sipped bespoke cocktails crafted by Marco Zappia and enjoyed elegant lite bites while mingling with Bibi herself, who graciously shared the inspiration and materials behind her surreal creations—including her signature use of ancient mammoth tusk and responsibly sourced gems.
Following the event, The Loupe team joined Bibi and her team for a celebratory dinner at Spoon and Stable, the acclaimed Minneapolis restaurant helmed by Chef Gavin Kaysen—capping off the evening with world-class cuisine and creative conversation.
